Holiday/Kylee's 6th Birthday

As the holidays are approaching as well as Kylee's 6th Birthday (she will be 6 on Dec 18th...so hard to believe) I am starting to put things together to do a drop off at Children's Hospital in Neenah. If anyone has anything they would like to donate please let me know or while you are out doing Black Friday shopping keep them on your list. Anything from toys and games to PJ's and fun socks to teenage items like hand held games, lotion sets and PJ bottoms to items for mom and dad. We also still donate parent packs so anything that can be used in them (soap, lotion, shampoo, deodarant and any items like that). Something that may seem small to you as a donation is huge to a child or parent in the hospital. Every little bit helps. Thank you for all your support.

Facebook

The Princess Kylee Project is now on Facebook so be sure to like our page. I seem to update that more often as it is a little quicker then on here.
We got a huge donation from 4Imprint out of Oshkosh. They donated 200 bags with the Princess Kylee Project name on them to be made up into parent packs. We also got several money donations from family and friends. We had a huge donations of items from Cindy Maus (toys, markers, games, blankets, toothpaste and the list goes on).
We are working on planning our first meal at the Ronald McDonald House in March with a lady bug theme. My parents are also celebrating there 50th Wedding Anniversary and instead of gifts are asking for donations for the Ronald McDonald House. I also just purchased some headbands and hats with the big flowers on them to donate to the table in the oncology office for kids to grab when they come in for a visit (well...I guess for girls to grab...don't think the boys will like the big flowers too much).
Thanks again for everyone for all your support and keep the donations coming. The families really appreciate it.

New Wish List For Holiday

CHW-Fox Valley posted a new wish list for the holidays for things they really need. I have a link below for the holiday wish list. I am also in need of "bags" to use to make the parent packs. In the past I have used different "girly bags" for the moms (straw bags from the dollar section at target/just plain cotton bags what looked girly and I got fit all the stuff in it) and photo boxes in black of brown for the dads. I am aslo in need of bags to use for goodie packs. I usually purchase the bags that have handles on them and are made of paper and are usually white or brown (usually by the gift bag section) and last of all stickers to put on those bags. I usually try to put stickers on the outside of them to match what is on the inside (Cars stickers and then in the inside I put cars crayons, coloring books and activity sets).

In Memory of Kylee McGlin

We have created this blog in memory of our daughter Kylee McGlin who passed away on March 20, 2011. Please read Kylee's story for more information on Kylee. During Kylee's four years of life she was very sick and we spent a lot of time in the hospital and at the Ronald McDonald house. We also had a wonderful benefit that was put on by friends and family to help us during our time of need. Because people have been so wonderful to us during our difficult time we would like to give back to others who are going thru what we have gone thru. Whenever Kylee would be admitted to the hospital she would always get a blanket. As time went on she would get a blanket, a pillowcase and a toy. Those things always meant so much to us. It helped make a hospital room seem more like home. Kylee had touched so many peoples lives in the short time she was with us. To help keep that going we have made stickers to put on all donated items with her picture on it and a link to this website. If anyone has any ideas on items to donate, would like to make a donation (of an item or monetary or time) on behalf of Kylee or knows someone who is in need of a donation you can contact me at princesskyleeproject.yahoo.com.
